Made from smooth vegtan (a natural tanning process) cow leather, it is embellished with hand carved design as the central design. The edge has been burnished to a subtle shine, also by hand. Like all vegtan leathers, it will develop a deeper, richer color with age and exposure to UV light. Lightly conditioned with a leather wax for protection, it is not fully waterproof, but will age beautifully.

Exploring vessel shapes and leather as a primary material is the inspiration for this piece, therefore it is meant to be an art object and not a utility serving piece.
