Made from smooth vegtan (a natural tanning process) cow leather, it is hand embellished with real copper leaf to accent the central design. The copper leaf is varnished, so it will not oxidize over time. Like all vegtan leathers, it will develop a deeper, richer color with age and exposure to UV light. Lightly conditioned with a leather wax for protection, it is not fully waterproof, but will age beautifully.

Exploring vessel shapes and leather as a primary material is the inspiration for this piece, therefore it is meant to be an art object and not a utility serving piece.
